This has been bugging me for a while. I seem to recall hearing a story about either Dali or Picasso being asked to design new uniforms (or asked for an opinion on new uniforms) for paratroopers in, I think, France. His retort was "I would dress them like harlequins" (or something like that) - the idea being that that which is most obvious is the best hidden.
